Emperor Pilaf Saga – Goku 12 years old
Despite the anime’s being established as only having an age of 11, Dragon Ball later retconned him to be 12 in the original story. This was because it had trouble with his age at 14 and decided he started younger than that!
Tournament & Red Ribbon Army Sagas – Goku 12 years old
Goku, a young boy of 12 years old at the time, fought in and won the World Martial Arts Tournament. He met Master Roshi during his search for Dragon Balls.
The encounters with Red Ribbon Army, General Blue and Mercenary Tao made him eligible to fight on behalf of Earth’s people.
Tien Shinhan & Demon King Piccolo Sagas – Goku 16 years old

Three years later, the young Goku faces off against Chi-Chi in a match of 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament. As his initial attraction for her leads to something deeper and more meaningful, what initially appeared as friendly competition eventually encourages them both to marry each other.
Their engagement continues with their most recent encounter with Demon King Piccolo who is defeated by an 18 year old Goku. A month after his battle with the demon king, he encounters another being who will soon become one of his closest allies: Gohan’s aforementioned reincarnation.

Saiyan & Frieza Sagas – Goku 23 years old
Dragon Ball Z starts off with a 23-year-old Goku raising his young son, Gohan. After dying in the battle against Raditz one year passes before he is finally wished back and brought back to life by the Dragon Balls. Once Goku returns, he leads the remaining Z Warriors’ efforts to defeat Nappa and Vegeta during their second battle on Earth following a slow recovery from death at that point in time. Then later on when things went bad for him after defeating Frieza but was saved by Gohan who became an adult as well (Krillin’s last appearance), Goten came along as well then headed off to planet Namek…
Android & Cell Sagas – Goku 30 years old
The year following Frieza’s defeat, Goku makes his way back to Earth where he meets future Trunks and learns about the arrival of Androids 17 and 18. Buu Saga – Goku 37 years old
The biggest time skip in Dragon Ball canon happens after Super Saiyan 2 Gohan’s victory over Cell. Seven years pass, with Goku electing to remain dead this entire time so that he can further his training on Otherworld.
After Goku saves the world from Kid Buu with the Spirit Bomb, a new life begins for him and he is able to return back home-now among the living again as an adult of 37 years old!
Battle Of Gods Saga – Goku 41 years old
The series moves Goku’s story forward four years after the end of Dragon Ball Z. At this point in the franchise, his son is married to Videl, Krillin becomes a member of the police force and Vegeta has been training endlessly but only achieving mediocrity. The 41-year-old Goku encounters Beerus – who travels to Earth on behalf of his master Whis – while living an uneventful life as a farmer with no conflict at all.
Suddenly he finds himself embroiled in battle royale when Beerus discovers him hiding out on Earth looking for more excitement than this boring lifestyle allows him any time soon.
Golden Frieza, Universe 6, & Future Trunks Sagas – Goku 42 years old
Dragon Ball Super spends a year between Goku’s fight with Beerus, who defeated Frieza, and the return of Frieza. After saving Earth from the rebuilt Frieza Force, Goku and his friends are called on to fight against Champa’s team of warriors from Universe 6. Shortly after that tournament ends, Vegeta is enlisted in Future Trunks’ battle to save his timeline – so he can “keep fighting.” By conclusion of these sagas at 42 years old (Goku has become a grandfather following Pan’s birth), it is revealed that Videl was pregnant with Pan during the lead-up to his transformation into a Super Saiyan God.
Universal Survival Saga (Android 17 wins tournament of Power) – Goku 43 years old
A few months in the canonically short amount of time between Future Trunks Saga and Universal Survival Saga pass on Dragon Ball Super.
