Simple Sweep Mod 1.16.5 that removes the sweep attack unless the weapon is enchanted with a sweeping enchantment (i.e. Sweeping Edge).
Normally, swords in Minecraft can perform a special attack called “Sweep Attack”. To perform a Sweep Attack, the sword’s charging bar must be above 84.8%. Furthermore, the player must also be standing still or moving very slowly to be able to Sweep. Sweep Attack will damage nearby enemies and repel them.
Simple Sweep is a mod that will erase this sword attack if your sword doesn’t have the Sweeping Edege enhancement. Its purpose was to make the sword more realistic and at the same time to reduce the strength of the sword to make it more balanced with the ax.
Of course, when you have Sweeping Edge on your sword, you will be able to perform Sweep Attack as usual and the damage won’t be reduced.

Config
whitelist If this has entries, only the items listed will have their sweep attack blocked. Entries should be in the form of registry name, i.e. ‘minecraft:diamond_sword’
blacklist Only used if whitelist is empty. Entries in this list will be exluded from having their sweep attack blocked. Entries should be in the form of registry name, i.e. ‘minecraft:diamond_sword’
To find the registry name of an item, press F3 + H to activate advanced tooltips. Then, hover over any item you wish to see its registry name.
