Multiconnect Mod 1.19.3, 1.18.1 allows a client on the latest Minecraft version to connect to servers on older versions. Multiconnect is the only mod that fixes 1.12 swimming mechanics and parkour differences and re-adds removed features such as command syntax on the client.

Why use a different protocol translator?
Due to its strong client-side focus, Multiconnect sets itself apart from related projects like ViaVersion and ProtocolSupport. Importantly, this implies that many version discrepancies can (and do) be resolved on the client while being unresolvable on the server. Multiconnect is the only mod that, as of this writing, corrects the swimming mechanics in 1.12, the parkour differences, and the removal of functionality like command syntax on the client.
However, multiconnect only works with Fabric and the most recent version of the Minecraft client. Additionally, it doesn’t cover as many versions as ViaVersion and ProtocolSupport do (yet).
With ViaFabric usage
Install ViaFabric alongside multiconnect if you want to connect to servers that are older than what multiconnect can currently support. The two are compatible; multiconnect will translate as much as it can, and ViaFabric will take you the rest of the way. For specifics on how to achieve this, go to the ViaFabric readme.
